Aerospace Forces planes transport collective CSTO forces to Kazakhstan around the clock

An air group of more than 70 Il-76 and 5 An-124 planes created by the Russian Ministry of Defense transfers units of the Russian contingent of the CSTO peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan around the clock. According to the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov, Russian military transport aircraft are also involved in the operational transfer of military contingents of Belarus, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia.

The transfer of Russian peacekeepers is carried out from airfields in the Moscow, Ivanovo, Ulyanovsk regions. Russian paratroopers from the CSTO peacekeeping contingent have made marches and are at the Chkalovsky, Ivanovo-Severny, Ulyanovsk-Vostochny loading airfields.

Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov, Commander of the Russian Airborne Forces, has been appointed to lead the actions of all the CSTO peacekeeping forces in Kazakhstan.

Major General Igor Konashenkov said that Russian peacekeepers provide assistance to law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan in maintaining law and order. The consulate general of the Russian Federation, located in Almaty, the airport and other important objects have been taken under protection.
