Russia - Helicopter crashed in Udmurtia looking for rescuers on snowmobiles and paratroopers

Russia (bbabo.net), - A ground group of the Russian Emergencies Ministry on off-road vehicles is to search for an emergency landing site for a helicopter in Udmurtia, the regional department reported.

In addition, a special board with a paratrooper group and employees of the Ural Aviation Search and Rescue Center departed from Perm. The territory is inspected from the air by drones, and volunteers are combing the forest.

The Mi-2 of the Kazan squadron, which was patrolling the oil pipeline, crashed on December 27 at 15:00 local time 120 km from Izhevsk, and about 2.5 km from the village of Kvaka, Uvinsky District, in a sparsely populated area. The day before, there was a heavy snowfall in the region, which made it difficult to find the helicopter.

As reported in the IC on transport, just before the loss of communication, the captain of the ship reported an emergency situation. According to preliminary information, the helicopter got into a vortex flow. At the same time, the ship was at a low altitude and fell into the snow, which mitigated the consequences. The pilot and passenger survived, one of them himself called 112 and reported the incident.
