Experts named Moldova's foreign policy priorities for 2022

Moldova (bbabo.net), - Deepening relations with the EU, as well as with neighboring countries - Romania and Ukraine, are among the priorities of our country's foreign policy, an expert from the Institute of European Politics told in an interview to the Moldova and World program on Radio Moldova and IPRE reforms Mihai Mogyldea, mybusiness.md reports with reference to trm.md.

“The priorities of foreign policy should be focused on intensifying the dialogue with the European Union, our neighbors Romania and Ukraine, discussing key issues regarding the Russian Federation, intensifying efforts at the national and international levels to resolve the Transnistrian conflict. I believe that the government should focus its efforts on initiating a new association agenda with the EU. We are talking at least about the capitalization of the first tranche of macro-financial assistance in the amount of 150 million euros, which was recently allocated by the European Commission. We are also talking about attracting other funds, financing, support from the EU, which will probably go to support judicial reforms, "said Mihai Mogyldea.

In turn, IDIS Viitorul expert Ion Tebyrta clarified that the Chisinau government must implement the reforms included in the Association Agreement in order to continue to enjoy EU support.

“In relations with the EU, the Republic of Moldova needs to move from words to deeds. We must admit that the EU's openness towards the Republic of Moldova will be maintained and deepened only if the Republic of Moldova is able to recover in the conditions of the reforms provided for in the Association Agreement. So far, what we see in the government is an intention to implement, not imitate these reforms, "Ion Tebyrta clarified.
