Russia (bbabo.net), - Residents of the Moscow region were warned of heavy snowfall and drifts on the roads.

According to the press service of the Moscow Department of Civil Defense, Emergencies and Fire Safety, heavy rainfall is expected from 7 pm on Sunday, January 9, to noon on Monday, January 10.

Snowfall will be accompanied by increased wind, gusts of which will reach 7-12 meters per second. Such weather usually provokes many accidents, therefore rescuers recommend strictly observing the speed limit and distance on the roads.

The state-owned company Avtodor has already announced the strengthening of control over the condition of the roads. "More than 220 units of equipment will be released to combat snowfall in the Moscow region alone," the press service of Avtodor said, adding that the equipment will operate on the M-1 Belarus, M-3 Ukraine, M- 4 "Don", M-11 "Neva", Central Ring Road and roads A-105 and A-107.
