Russia - Wine fairs will be held in Russia

Russia (bbabo.net), - Since 2022, it is allowed to organize specialized fairs with tasting of wine products in Russia. The law on this is published by Rossiyskaya Gazeta today.

At the fairs, it will be allowed to taste and sell only wine products produced in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (the EAEU, in addition to Russia, includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan). All 100% of trading places will be distributed among the representatives of these countries. Moreover, the wine must be made from grapes grown on the territory of these states.

Exceptions are cognac, brandy and grape vodka - they should not be at fairs. Fairs can last up to 14 calendar days.

At specialized wine fairs, it is allowed to sell wine from non-stationary trade facilities.

And the law on advertising is being amended to allow advertising wine from the EAEU countries at these fairs.

The authorities expect the fairs to help promote domestic wines and wine products produced in the EAEU countries.

In November last year, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Viktor Yevtukhov expressed the point of view that such fairs will surely become popular among people, they will be held more than once a year in different regions of Russia. This is evidenced by the experience of organizing days of Russian wines, which are held jointly with retail - in 2021 they were held in more than 35 thousand outlets.
