Telephone scammers under the guise of employees of the State Services are trying to take over the accounts of users of the portal, according to the State Duma IT Committee Telegram channel. Against the backdrop of account thefts using fake QR codes, attackers came up with new ways to steal personal information.

Fraudsters, posing as employees of the Gosuslug support service or cybersecurity, tell the victim that her account has been compromised. After that, they are asked to “confirm the data” by calling the code from the SMS. It is also reported that the pretext for calling scammers can be a loan that does not really exist, data leakage, change of name, address or CHI policy number.

The Committee of Information Technologies of the State Duma recommends that you immediately hang up if there are any doubts even “for a second”.

It is noted that the operator "Gosuslug" never asks for codes from SMS, CVV cards or a passport number, and support will not call if you do not leave a request.
