What happens when you compare the iPhone 13 Pro Max with a top gaming PC? How productive Apple turned out to be new platforms for the MacBook, we know very well. But in the new iPhones, the platforms are also very powerful.
PhoneBuff has taken Apple's flagship and compared it to a $4,000 gaming PC. The configuration of the latter included Ryzen 9 5950X, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and 64 GB of RAM. Can a smartphone at least something to oppose such a powerful PC?
It turned out that it could, albeit with reservations. For example, PC video rendering was about three times faster. This is a huge difference, but the difference in power consumption is many times greater. But already in the next test - photo processing in Lightroom - it was the smartphone that was ahead! Exporting the same photos returned all the space again, and the PC coped with this task three times faster.
The round in Excel turned out to be absolutely devastating for the iPhone, where the PC completed the task in 12 seconds, and the smartphone took more than 3 minutes. In the test, Safari again won the PC, but the gap was small. Gaming tests can be omitted, as they are very conditional when comparing such different devices.
Thus, we can conclude that a top-end PC, which is about three times more expensive than a top-end smartphone, is often many times faster in various resource-intensive tasks. But, firstly, not everywhere, and somewhere the iPhone even manages to win, and secondly, if you keep in mind the huge difference in power consumption, the results of the smartphone look very worthy.
