CNN: FBI urges US companies to report cyberthreats from 'Russian hackers'

The US Federal Security Service is urging American companies to report any surge in cyberthreats from “Russian hacker groups.” This is reported by CNN, citing a bureau document sent to firms.

At the same time, the channel notes that so far there has been no information about attacks by Russian hackers.

“Have you identified any attempts by known or suspected Russian (hacker groups) to test exploitative capability, develop new malware, or otherwise prepare for cyber operations?” says the relevant document.

The FBI is urging companies to report signs of "increased cyber activity against critical infrastructure in Ukraine or the United States."

According to the channel, the US authorities are taking measures to protect against hacker attacks in case the US imposes sanctions on Russia because of its hypothetical "invasion" of Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that the hacker put up for sale the personal data of more than 2 million citizens of Ukraine.
