More than 93 million Russian citizens - or 64% of the country's population - have a verified account on the Gosuslug portal. Since the beginning of 2021, the number of registered users on the portal has increased by 11%, or 11 million people. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development.
“The number of portal users has grown significantly due to the increase in available services for citizens in electronic form. For example, in 2021, more than 170 federal, regional and municipal mass socially significant services were transferred to electronic form. Many separate electronic services were also implemented: Pushkin Map, population census, electronic voting, services related to the fight against COVID-19," the ministry explained.
The department added that in 2021 the number of calls to the portal services doubled compared to 2020. Last November alone, Russians applied for public services 60 times, three times more than in November 2020.
In January, the Ministry of Digital Transformation included Gosuslugi and the social network VKontakte in the list of socially significant resources in accordance with the Law on Accessible Internet. Now access to them should be free even in the absence of funds on the personal account.
The free list includes websites of government agencies and local governments, news aggregators, search services, as well as some social networks and individual online stores - a total of 371 resources.
