Microsoft showed the design of Windows 11 in the style of Windows 7

Microsoft showcased a new look and feel for Windows 11 UI elements during the January Windows Developer Program webcast.

Apparently, the new design was shown ahead of time, but enthusiasts and developers managed to notice it and take screenshots.

The new design is reminiscent of Windows Aero, which was used in Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

With the release of Windows 8 and its successor Windows 10, Microsoft dropped support for rounded corners and the Aero Glass effect with translucent window title bars. Windows 11 has already added rounded corners to windows and other interface elements. It looks like the next major OS update should also add the Aero effect with transparent Windows 7-era title bars. The transparency effect will appear in both regular app windows and pop-up windows.

This innovation may come with the release of Windows 11 version 22H2, also known as Sun Valley 2, in the second half of 2022.
