GeForce RTX 3050 could become even more affordable with a move to a lower GPU

The GeForce RTX 3050 desktop graphics card can become even more affordable, both in terms of price and in the context of presence on store shelves.

As you know, the desktop RTX 3050 is based on the GA106 GPU, although its parameters are completely the same as those of the GA107. Probably, Nvidia initially did not have sufficient stocks of lower-end GPUs, which all went to mobile solutions. Now, however, the situation is likely to have changed.

The source says that Nvidia and partners will start releasing the RTX 3050 on the GA107 as well. These GPUs are pin-compatible, so graphics card manufacturers will have no problem juggling two chips within the same cards. At the same time, the updated version of TDP will decrease from 130 to 115 watts. But more importantly, such a move should allow even more RTX 3050s to be released to the market, which will positively affect the price.

At the moment, the card continues to get cheaper, but so far it cannot keep up with the Radeon RX 6500 XT in terms of price reduction.
