Intel will release a discrete graphics card with five video outputs

According to the source, Intel has released a patch for the i915 video driver for Linux, which adds support for the fifth video output to the line of branded 3D cards based on the DG2 GPU. On the basis of this GPU (its various versions) serial video cards of the Arc Alchemist line will be built. Among them there will be models of initial, average and top levels.

The patch, alas, does not explain how the fifth video output will be implemented. Moreover, there is nothing of the kind in the photo and video of Arc Alchemist engineering samples. The top version, like its counterparts from Nvidia and AMD, has four video outputs. It is possible that discrete Intel graphics cards will have a USB-C port. However, there is another option.

Whereas custom graphics cards usually get by with three to four HDMI and DisplayPort, workstation solutions can have more video connectors. For example, the Radeon PRO W6800 has six Mini DisplayPort video outputs. The Arc Alchemist line is rumored to have workstation versions, and they just might have more than four video outputs.
