Mini PC with a skull on the case and the latest Intel processor inside

The specs of the new NUC mini PC have surfaced online. We are talking about the NUC 12 Extreme model with the code name Dragon Canyon.

Like its predecessor, this mini PC is based on the NUC Compute Element platform, but now it has an LGA 1700 desktop socket, that is, it will be possible to replace the CPU. True, such mini-PCs are unlikely to be available in the form of Barebone-kits.

Out of the box, either a Core i7 or Core i9 of the Alder Lake generation will be preinstalled with a TDP of up to 65 W, that is, up to the Core i9-12900.

The mini PC also offers two DDR4 RAM slots, three M.2 SSD slots, an HDMI 2.0b port, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, six USB 3.2 connectors, a Wi-Fi 6E adapter and a couple of RJ45. It is possible to use a discrete graphics card, but it should take up no more than two expansion slots, which significantly limits the choice in modern times.
