This information comes from Xiaomiui, which found an entry in the IMEI database. The phone received model number K16B, which is very similar to K16A belonging to Poco M4 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 11 5G (for China). As a reminder, the Poco M4 Pro 5G is a rebranding of the Note 11 5G for the global market.
Currently, the only Redmi Note 11 with 5G support is the Note 11 Pro 5G, so releasing a more affordable version for the global market makes sense. The upcoming Note 11S 5G will use the Dimensity 810 5G single-chip system.
The Redmi Note 11S 5G is expected to feature a 6.67-inch S-AMOLED Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 16MP front camera, and a main camera with 64MP, 8MP, and 2MP image sensors. It will have a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging. It will ship with Android 12 and MIUI 13 OS as well as a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
