The new iMac Pro will not be faster than the current top-end MacBook Pro

According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman (Mark Gurman), the upcoming professional all-in-one Apple iMac Pro will not receive any new (for the Mac as a whole) platform.

All indications are that Apple is focusing on an iMac Pro with a larger screen than the 24-inch model. It will include M1 Pro and M1 Max processors from the latest high-end MacBook Pros. If Apple only bets on the larger iMac, as is the case with the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, it will use the display size as another "professional" difference from the younger model.

Thus, the new iMac Pro will receive the same platforms that are currently used in the MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16, although there were previously rumors about a newer SoC. On the one hand, their performance is already very high, on the other hand, in past generations iMac Pro have always been much more productive than any MacBook Pro.

Gurman also believes that there will be no 24-inch version of the iMac Pro, just as there will be no 27-inch version of the regular iMac. That is, Apple will separate these two lines of monoblocks, including in size.
