The launch of Donald Trump's social network Truth Social was unsuccessful - copying the logo, bugs, an endless waiting list

On February 21, Donald Trump's social network Truth Social appeared in the AppStore. According to Gizmodo, Truth Social quickly took first place in the social media section. But already after the first installations of the application, users massively began to report various critical errors. In particular, users could not register on the social network, view the text of the user agreement, the application often crashed, and more.

Gizmodo has compiled all user-reported bugs:

Unable to register in the application - when you try to enter your date of birth, email address or phone number to create an account, an error message is displayed;

Endless waiting list - those who were able to register (from the fifth or more times) fell into a waiting list of tens or even hundreds of thousands of users, and these places were lost or remained unchanged after registration;

App shutdown – on the first day, Truth Social shut down the social network for 13 hours and 14 minutes, explaining this by the primary traffic received when launching the application, which they could not immediately handle;

Unable to View Terms of Use - Users reported that the app received an "Access Denied" notification when trying to view the Terms of Use.

Security bugs in the beta version of the application - a few hours before the launch of Truth Social in the App Store, the Daily Dot portal found critical security bugs, but the final version that was released differs from the beta;

Copying someone else's logo - Truth Social's logo is very similar to the logo of Trailar from the UK, which installs solar panels on trucks and provides trucking analytics.

The history of copying the logo is especially comical. Below are the nearly identical Trailar (left) and Truth Social (right) logos. According to a user who noticed the similarity, the logistics company has been using the logo since 2019. Trailar even thanked Trump for supporting the growing business on her microblog, adding that next time it would be better to ask for permission to use it.

According to Insider, Trailar is considering filing a lawsuit against Truth Social. Now the company consults with lawyers on this issue.
