The functionality of Sberbank cards in Kazakhstan will be cut. Payment with Sber cards will not be available in the network of other banks, in addition, customers will not be able to withdraw money from ATMs of other banks and transfer funds to cards of other banks.
The restrictions will come into effect on March 18 for Mastercard and March 20 for Visa.
“We do not interrupt relations with our partners and hope for a speedy restoration of services,” the bank points out.
It is emphasized that Sberbank Visa and Mastercard cards do not stop working completely, they are only limited in functionality. The cards will continue to work in the Sberbank network. Will be available:
payment in POS-terminals of Sberbank;
cash withdrawal at Sberbank ATMs;
payments for services in a mobile application.
Customers can also apply for opening cards of Mir and Chinese UnionPay payment systems.
Sberbank has the third largest ATM network in Kazakhstan and 110 bank branches. As of February 1, 2022, the division of Sberbank in the republic ranked second in terms of assets among all Kazakhstani banks.
