The Ministry of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media intends to take a number of emergency measures to create and support domestic platforms. Thus, the department reacts to the situation in the country in connection with the actions of Russia on the territory of Ukraine.

This statement was made by the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Development Alexander Shotov at the hearings in the State Duma "On the legislative provision of information security for children and adolescents."

According to Shotov, foreign services are being replaced by Russian ones. Therefore, domestic platforms require emergency support, the deputy minister adds.

The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation has blocked the social network Twitter in recent weeks. The Supreme Supervisory Body demanded that the Meta (formerly Facebook) corporation, which manages the activities of the social networks Facebook and Instagram, as well as the WhatsApp messenger, be recognized as extremist. The first two platforms are already blocked in Russia.

Referring to the words of Meta Platforms spokesman Andy Stone, the prosecutor's office notes that the sites have lifted the ban on the publication of information that contains calls for violence against Russian citizens.

Yesterday Mintsifra offered to allocate 14 billion rubles. to support domestic IT companies in 2022. This assistance will be distributed in the form of grants. The measures are aimed at supporting import substitution, developers of open libraries, reducing the negative consequences of sanctions and stimulating demand for Russian products.

Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Transformation announced that it would begin filtering foreign traffic to protect the websites of banks and credit organizations from DDoS attacks that have become more frequent in recent weeks.
