Microsoft has released an urgent update to Windows 10 and 11 against VPN and Microsoft 365 failures

Last week, Microsoft released a large batch of cumulative updates as part of its traditional monthly Patch Tuesday update for the Windows operating system. However, the update was not very successful, and in order to correct unpleasant shortcomings, Microsoft released an unscheduled "urgent" update of the operating system.

Users are experiencing issues with the Azure Active Directory sign-in process as well as Microsoft 365 on Arm devices. Users of applications and services that use Azure Active Directory to sign in, including VPN, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Outlook, may experience this issue.

The updates are available for Windows 11 (21H2) and three versions of Windows 10 (21H2, 21H1 and 20H2). They will be automatically installed via Windows Update (Windows Update), or they can be installed manually via the Microsoft Update Catalog.

Additionally, Patch Tuesday updates broke the Wi-Fi hotspot feature on some devices, and some .NET apps stopped opening. However, the only workaround for these issues is to re-enable the .NET Framework and disable the Wi-Fi hotspot feature altogether.
