According to well-known Chinese insider Digital Chat Station, the development of the new Xiaomi flagship based on the SM8550 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2) is ahead of schedule. It was previously reported that Xiaomi 13 will be presented in November this year. Now it is confirmed that Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro will be announced in November, and sales will begin in December this year.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the successor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and will be manufactured by TSMC using a 4nm process. The platform will continue to use the “1 + 3 + 4” three-cluster architecture.
It is reported that Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro will be equipped with high-quality 2K resolution screens, stereo sound, water resistance, multifunctional NFC and a Leica camera. Previously, Digital Chat Station confirmed that the finished prototype is made of ceramic material, which is superior in quality to previous ceramic cases of Xiaomi smartphones.
After Xiaomi 13, the single-chip system will appear in the Samsung Galaxy S23 and many other flagship smartphones.
