Bluetooth LE Audio was announced back in early 2020, and the Bluetooth SIG initially hoped that supported devices would be released before the end of this year. But due to the pandemic, the dates had to be shifted.

One of the innovations for Bluetooth LE Audio is the new LC3 audio codec, which is designed to be a much more efficient way to transmit audio. This means better sound quality for the same bandwidth.
