French automaker Renault suffered huge losses in the first half of the year due to its exit from Russia, according to the manufacturer's latest financial report.

The net business interruption loss of €2.3 billion is attributable to a non-cash adjustment due to the shutdown of industrial activity in Russia.

Renault left the Russian market in May 2022. The assets were transferred to the Ministry of Industry and NAMI with the possibility of repurchase within six years, the Moscow plant was transferred to the balance of Moscow free of charge.

Renault also estimated that by the end of the year, underproduction associated with a shortage of semiconductors would amount to 300,000 vehicles.

The Belarusian representative office of Renault earlier announced the start of sales of the Koleos crossover of the new model year, which is available for purchase to residents of Russia.
