Bloomberg: Yandex is in talks to leave the Netherlands and retain Volozh's intellectual property rights

Bloomberg sources said that Yandex is in talks to move the parent company from the Netherlands and retain part of the intellectual property rights for co-founder Arkady Volozh in exchange for his relinquishing his stake in the company. According to media reports, the talks are led and supervised by the first deputy head of the presidential administration, Sergei Kiriyenko, and the head of the Accounts Chamber, Alexei Kudrin. Yandex declined to comment on this media publication.

Bloomberg clarified that at the moment there have been no proposals to change the owner of Yandex, and the main direction of the negotiations is focused on the need for the company to soon leave its corporate base in the Netherlands.

Two insiders confirmed to the publication that the founder and former CEO of the Yandex group of companies, Volozh, is ready to give up his stake in the company in exchange for permission to retain intellectual property rights necessary for business development abroad, including unmanned and cloud technologies, the Yandex educational project .Practice”.
