WhatsApp is preparing an update in which users will be able to recover deleted messages. Patch 2.22.18.13 is currently only available to beta testers. Users will have a few seconds to recover deleted messages.
The developers believe that the function will be useful for the participants in the correspondence who wanted to delete the message for everyone, but mistakenly deleted it only from themselves. The option will allow you to restore and delete the message.
The feature is in beta testing on the Play Store. To activate it, the developers recommend updating the WhatsApp application. However, it is not available for all users, the general launch of message recovery will appear in upcoming updates, the company assures.
To restore a deleted message, select it and click the "Cancel" button. This option is only available once per message. Developers allocate about five seconds to restore the message.
Message recovery for all WhatsApp users will appear before the end of August. It is possible that over time the company will increase the time intervals for using the function. Users are currently given the option to delete a message within three hours of being sent.
On August 8, Meta* CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that WhatsApp will have new privacy settings. This will allow users to control the visibility of the activity status, as well as prevent them from taking screenshots of their posts. However, Zuckerberg has yet to reveal a release date for the new privacy features.
