Russia - Smersh high-precision self-loading rifle presented

Russian gunsmith Vladislav Lobaev announced on his Telegram channel that he was testing a new high-precision self-loading rifle of the 308Win caliber, which was called the Smersh.

The designer explained that high-precision semi-automatic rifles are now in demand. It is assumed that this figure for "Smersh" will be 0.5MOA, and the range will reach 1000 m.

We need a weapon with an accuracy of not 2 MOA, but 0.5 MOA, and chambered for a cartridge well mastered by our industry (and 308Win is produced by several domestic factories at once). In this case, we get weapons not only for the Marksman, but also for the sniper. Well, high accuracy is our speciality. And we consider it quite achievable for us, which will be verified in the course of the next accuracy tests. But a higher accuracy will also give a slightly higher range than the SVD - 1000 m against the realistic 800 m.

Previously, Vladislav Lobaev produced exclusively bolt-action (bolt-action) sniper rifles. That is, they are charged manually, which is convenient when shooting at ultra-long distances. The self-loading system has a bad effect on accuracy. However, in this case, the emphasis is on combining accuracy and rate of fire.

The rifle was made according to the scheme of the American AR-15.
