In Kazan, three volumes of the tafsir of the Koran in the Tatar language under the name "Forkan" were published, two volumes from which were published earlier. The three-volume edition contains commentaries on the first half of the Qur'an.

In compiling the tafsir, a large number of well-known classical interpretations in Arabic and Tatar were used, including Ibn Kathir, at-Tabari, Jalalayn and many others.

The tafsir was prepared by the former imam-mukhtasib from Tatarstan, Fidail Jarulla. The author began his work more than 12 years ago and intends to complete it.

There are many different tafsirs in the Tatar language, which were mainly published in pre-revolutionary times. At the end of the Soviet era, the imam of the city of Chistopol, Nurulla Mofluhunov, first translated the tafsir "Nogmani" from Old Tatar into modern Tatar. The book became popular and went through many editions.

In 2019, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan prepared and published a new tafsir in the Tatar language, based on the work of the Turkish theologian Mahmud Ustaosmanoglu.

The theological work “Forkan” was published with the assistance of the Association of Public Associations “Collection”.
