In Israel, drones will be sent to the shooting sites

American and Israeli companies have begun to develop a system that will combine autonomous drones with shot location technology. Drones will be sent to the scene of the shooting to determine its source and call a police squad.

ShotSpotter is already in operation in 120 cities in the United States, South Africa and the Caribbean, which uses a network of microphones to detect "loud, sharp sounds." The geolocation of the sound origin can be obtained by analyzing the time difference when it was picked up by different microphones - the closer the microphone is to the source, the earlier it recorded the sound. Human employees then use AI software to determine if the sound is actually a shot.

The police then move to the scene of the shooting. However, it takes the police some time to get there.

In 2015, the system went live in New York. She has been working in Washington since 2006. There are some complaints about the system. So, a resident of Chicago was jailed for almost a year for allegedly killing a young man whom he gave a lift in his car in the area of the shot. ShotSpotter data was used as evidence against him.

Now Israeli drone maker Airobotics has teamed up with ShotSpotter to add autonomous drones to the system. It is assumed that the drone will be in place in a few seconds and determine the source of the shots, and the police will receive video in real time from its onboard camera.

Each drone will be based in its own indoor docking station, where it will be charged. The batteries will be replaced by a robotic arm.

The system is planned to be used in urban areas throughout Israel.

Meanwhile, the Moscow water rescue service tested the first Russian serial drone port Hive in real conditions. Station "Dronoport Hive" allows you to fully automate the flight of the drone, its maintenance, security and maintenance of the temperature inside the box, which is optimal for the durability of the batteries. The drone takes off from the base within a minute, conducts reconnaissance and filming at the scene of the incident, and then transmits the data to the MCC.
