Airbus from Geely, which will land in 2024

Geely has published new details about its LEVC L380 superminivan. This is the largest passenger car in the Geely lineup, and the use of an electric powertrain makes it completely unique (but only for Geely). The LEVC L380 company itself calls it the “Airbus of cars” for its spaciousness and the similarity of the front profiles of the LEVC L380 and the Airbus A380.

In China, this model will compete with both traditional minivans with internal combustion engines (Toyota Alphard and its numerous clones), as well as with the large electric minivan Li Auto Mega.

It has now become known that the Geely LEVC L380 will have options for 6 and 8 people. The 6-seater version will have a large trunk with an underground compartment. In the 8-seater version, the trunk is smaller, and the fourth row seats can be stowed underground.

The capacity of the car's traction battery is 116 kWh, the maximum range is 650 km. So far there is only one power plant - with an electric motor with a capacity of 272 hp. on the rear axle, but a more powerful all-wheel drive version should appear in the future. The minivan's suspension is adaptive with pneumatic elements. The official premiere of the Geely LEVC L380 will take place later this year. Perhaps already at the end of April at the Beijing Auto Show.

The new coupe-shaped crossover Citroen Basalt Vision has been presented, which will be released initially in South America and India. The manufacturer said that this compact car combines the dynamics of a coupe with the reliability and practicality of a crossover.

“We are delighted to introduce the third phase of a program designed to drive Citroën’s international growth. Our teams are committed to bringing to life in the coming months this innovative SUV coupe concept that combines bold design, interior space and unique comfort. We are confident that Basalt Vision, developed and manufactured locally, will appeal to a large number of customers and strengthen our position in key markets. We can’t wait to tell you more about this mid-year,” said Citroen CEO Thierry Coscas.

The developers claim that the car will stand confidently on the road, while it will offer high ground clearance, which will allow it to overcome light off-road conditions.

Technical characteristics of the Citroen Basalt Vision have not yet been disclosed. Sales will begin in the second half of 2024.
