Chairman of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR) Mikhail Shmakov commented on the situation with the rise in prices in a number of Russian retail chains. He noted that everyone who is engaged in profit in the current situation must be called to account.

Shmakov also said that today the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia issued a statement on the situation in Ukraine.

“In particular, we wrote down that the owners must take actions to protect workers and the public from the social dangers of sanctions,” said the chairman of the FNPR.

In addition, he noted that it was proposed to limit the owners in the possibility of closing enterprises and laying off employees. According to him, in order to compensate for the increase in price inflation, coordinated measures are needed to ensure wage growth.

“Prices for basic goods must be placed under strict state control. Those enterprises whose owners will not be able to provide sustainable work and social guarantees should become the property of the state, be nationalized, ”concluded Shmakov.
