Russia (bbabo.net) - People with immunodeficiency are "incubators" of new strains of coronavirus, said the doctor Alexander Myasnikov. According to him, in the organisms of these patients, the virus mutates much more often than in others.

"These are incubators of new viruses. And this is how the omicron arose. And the following viruses will be among immunocompromised patients who will become infected," the specialist explained on the air of the Russia 1 TV channel.

He cited the case of a patient with lymphoma who had been diagnosed with hundreds of COVID-19 mutations. In order for the virus to mutate so much in natural conditions, it would take about ten years, Myasnikov noted.

People with weakened immune systems should be vaccinated with "three doses or more," the physician concluded.

Earlier, the Chinese virologist Zhang Wenhong said that the omicron strain is the most dangerous for people with immunodeficiency. Despite the widespread belief that many patients tolerate omicron in the form of a “severe cold,” this category of patients can still develop the disease with serious complications, the doctor warned.
