Russia (bbabo.net), - In the village of Mishkino, Kurgan region, they said goodbye to a police patrol officer Denis Mikhalev, who was killed during an armed attack on the PPS crew.

Recall that the tragedy happened on January 8. At two o'clock in the morning, a man opened fire from a rifled gun at a UAZ police car, which was located next to the police station. As a result, Police Sergeant Mikhalev, who would have turned 27 this year, died on the spot, and his colleague was wounded. The attacker was a previously convicted 44-year-old local resident. During the arrest he was wounded, he later died in the hospital.

Denis Mikhalev has served in the internal affairs bodies since May 2020. According to the leadership and colleagues of the Yurgamyshsky inter-municipal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, he was a highly professional, responsible, reliable employee and comrade, an example of courage and dedication. He is survived by a wife and two young sons.

- At the cost of his life, Denis Aleksandrovich protected his comrades, gave them the opportunity to escape, call for reinforcements, - said during parting the head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kurgan region, Police Major General Dmitry Svinov. - We will do our best to support his family and children, not only in these sorrowful days, but also in the future. The memory of him will forever remain in our hearts.

According to Dmitry Svinov, in addition to the social guarantees provided for by the law, the family of the deceased is supervised by employees of the personnel department. The policeman's family will receive priority medical and spa services.

Condolences to the family of Denis Mikhalev were expressed by the plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Ural Federal District, the chief federal inspector for the Kurgan region, the governor, the heads of the security agencies and supervisory departments of the region, the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

A criminal case has been initiated and is being investigated into the attack on police officers.
