In the American city of Colleyville, Texas, an unknown person took people hostage in a synagogue. This is reported by the city police on Twitter.

“We are currently running a SWAT operation in the 6100 block of Pleasant Run Rd. All residents of nearby areas will be evacuated, ”the message says.

Law enforcement officers urged local residents to avoid the dangerous area. They later clarified that the operation was still ongoing.

The Beth Israel synagogue is located at the address given by the police.

In early January, a similar incident occurred in Indiana. A man armed with a machine gun took several people hostage at the Indiana University Bloomington Hotel and Convention Center. Hotel guests were evacuated.
