Russia - Telegram paid fines for 11 million rubles

Russia (bbabo.net), - The Bailiff Service terminated three enforcement proceedings against Telegram. This means that the debt has been paid off. The total debt for the three proceedings was 11 million rubles. The fine was imposed on the company by the Tagansky Court of Moscow for refusing to remove content banned in Russia.

Also in December last year, the company paid fines totaling 15 million rubles, fully repaying debts from previous fines.

The largest Internet services - Telegram, Google, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, WhatsApp - are regularly held liable in Russia for not removing prohibited content (Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). The courts punish Internet giants, including for not deleting information with calls for minors to participate in unauthorized actions. According to Interfax, the total amount of fines imposed by the courts since the beginning of this year has exceeded 200 million rubles.

Now the Federal Bailiff Service has opened enforcement proceedings to recover fines from Twitter in the amount of 34.7 million rubles.
