Snow, ice and down to -6°C expected in Moscow on Thursday

Cloudy weather with clearings, light snow in places, black ice and down to -6°C is expected in Moscow on Thursday. This was reported on the website of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia.

During the day in the capital it is expected to be within 4…6°C of frost. On Friday night, the air temperature can drop to -9°C.

Wind southeast, 2–7 m/s. Atmospheric pressure will be about 745 mmHg.

In the suburbs on Thursday the temperature will fluctuate between -9…-4°C. On Friday night, the thermometers can drop to -12°C.

Previously, a researcher at Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov Mikhail Lokoshchenko said that spring in Russia this year will not be too early.

According to him, it is too early to determine the timing of the onset of heat, a reliable forecast can be made only for up to two to three weeks. Lokoshchenko emphasized that it is also impossible to predict spring by the behavior of animals.

On the eve of the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand said that spring will come in Moscow and in the south of the Urals in the third decade of March. As Vilfand explained, spring weather comes in different ways in Russian regions.
