Vladimir Putin stressed that "Russia and Hungary are closely cooperating in the field of medicine and drug production." As an example of a successful Russian-Hungarian partnership in medicine, he named the Hungarian pharmaceutical company Gedeon Richter, which was one of the first to localize the production of drugs in Russia - it built a plant in Yegorievsk, which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year.

Currently, the company produces 23 types of drugs in various forms and dosages, 12 of which are included in the list of vital and essential drugs. Medicines are produced in Yegorievsk not only for Russians, but also for residents of the CIS countries and the European Union.

Since the launch of the plant in 1996, the total investment has amounted to more than 127 million euros. Last year, the construction of a new filling and packaging workshop for drugs with a total area of ​​​​more than 9,000 square meters was completed. meters, equipped with the most modern equipment.

Attila Varadi, authorized representative of "Gedeon Richter" in the Russian Federation, noted that interaction in the field of public health is one of the key areas of interstate relations. "Against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to once again see how important a constructive dialogue and partnership approach is in this area. We highly appreciate the support of the Russian leadership and, despite the difficult situation in the world, we continue to take care of the health of Russian patients, offering as good proven medicines, as well as innovative solutions in the field of women's health, diseases of the central nervous system and cardiovascular problems," he stressed.
