Vladimir Putin stressed that "Russia and Hungary are closely cooperating in the field of medicine and drug production." As an example of a successful Russian-Hungarian partnership in medicine, he named the Hungarian pharmaceutical company Gedeon Richter, which was one of the first to localize the production of drugs in Russia - it built a plant in Yegorievsk, which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year.
Currently, the company produces 23 types of drugs in various forms and dosages, 12 of which are included in the list of vital and essential drugs. Medicines are produced in Yegorievsk not only for Russians, but also for residents of the CIS countries and the European Union.
Since the launch of the plant in 1996, the total investment has amounted to more than 127 million euros. Last year, the construction of a new filling and packaging workshop for drugs with a total area of more than 9,000 square meters was completed. meters, equipped with the most modern equipment.
