Andrey Girinsky, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Economics at RUDN University, said in an interview with the Prime agency that this year a number of benefits are available for pensioners to avoid a number of payments and duties.

The specialist recalled that the pensioner does not pay for servicing the MIR bank card, while all pension payments go to the latter. Also, pensioners are exempted from fees for notarizing a power of attorney to receive a pension, as well as for issuing a certificate of inheritance at home - if they live with the testator.

“Exemption from land tax is possible if there is a land plot not exceeding six acres. If a pensioner owns several land plots, the benefit applies to only one of them,” Girinsky said.

Also, according to him, there is a benefit for gasification of the land plot to its borders.

He recalled that a pensioner cannot be sued for debt collection if the pension is minimal.

Earlier, Larisa Sorokina, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Economics at the People's Friendship University of Russia, listed the conditions for retirement according to the "old" retirement age - at 60 and 55 years.
