The grandson of the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov commented to RIA Novosti about reports of the politician's hospitalization.

According to him, Zyuganov is undergoing a routine medical examination, which takes place annually. He stressed that information about the coronavirus is “inflated”.

Earlier, former State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Lysakov said in his Telegram channel that Gennady Zyuganov was hospitalized in the same department as LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who was recently diagnosed with coronavirus. The head of the press service of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Alexander Yushchenko, said that this information about Zyuganov's hospitalization cannot be treated as reliable, but he did not say which department the politician was actually in.

Prior to this, Yushchenko said that the leader of the Communist Party decided to hospitalize "taking into account the epidemiological situation" and the medical interventions the politician had undergone in recent years.
