Guardian columnist visits last 'whites-only' US temple

The Guardian columnist Amudalat Ayasa visited a neo-pagan temple in Murdoch, Minnesota. According to the report, the religious organization Asatru People's Assembly, which owns the temple, is the only one of its kind in the United States that does not allow non-white people to join the organization.

The temple, which the pagans bought in Murdoch, originally belonged to the Lutheran community, but it became too small and no longer able to maintain the building in good condition, and therefore the church was first abandoned, and then was bought out by representatives of the Asatru religion.

The members of the organization, at the same time, declare that they are not connected with politics and are not racists, but still only people who have a Nordic origin can come to their services and become members of the organization.

At the same time, not all people professing neo-paganism support the conflicting beliefs of the members of the Asatru Peoples' Assembly. So, Amudalat also managed to visit the festival of the Asatru Community, a progressive pagan organization that opposes the purchase of a temple in Murdoch.

Earlier it was reported that in the United States, a billionaire left the church for the sake of LGBT people.
