Quadcopters detect violations related to real estate in Moscow

Unmanned drones will inspect about 70 districts of Moscow in the next two months. With their help, the State Inspectorate for Real Estate at the beginning of 2020 already checked over 160 square kilometers for land and property violations. By the end of the first quarter, she plans to explore another 1,200 square kilometers.

Last year, drones circled the city three times and identified more than 10,000 objects with signs of unauthorized construction. Specialists worked out a list of 1.4 thousand objects. Objects with confirmed violations were dismantled or brought into line with urban planning requirements and legislation.

The head of the State Inspectorate for Real Estate, Vladislav Ovchinsky, said:

“The State Real Estate Inspectorate quarterly flies the entire territory of the city with the help of quadrocopters to identify illegal objects. Since the beginning of 2022, aircraft have surveyed more than 160 square kilometers of Moscow land and identified 37 signs of violations. Additional checks will be carried out on them. In February and March, another 1,200 square kilometers will be flown in 70 districts of Moscow. So, for example, quadrocopters will fly around the areas of Ochakovo-Matveevskoye, Kuzminki, Mitino, Begovoy, Danilovsky, Babushkinsky and the Klenovskoye settlement in the TiNAO.”

These checks allow for remote study of the city, especially in hard-to-reach and closed areas. The aircraft are equipped with cameras for photo and video recording, and some of them are equipped with precise laser scanning systems. As of January 2022, there were 25 quadrocopters in the aircraft fleet of the department.
