The Russians told what kind of cars they dreamed of in their youth

Almost a third of Russians in their youth dreamed of buying a Soviet-made car. This is stated in the study of the SberAvto service, which was received by the editors. 17,000 people from large Russian cities took part in the survey.

32% wanted to buy a car that was produced in the USSR. 13% of respondents dreamed of a German car, 11% dreamed of an ordinary Soviet car, and 7% dreamed of a Japanese sports car. Some have admitted to liking muscle cars from the Fast & Furious films, convertibles and motorhomes. And 28% admitted that it was important for them just to buy a car - and no matter what.

Almost every third car was worried about the appearance of the car, as well as convenience for the driver and passengers. The rest thought about multifunctionality and spaciousness, for some the brand was fundamental. For the first time, 30% of respondents thought about their own car at the age of 22. Another 15% - from 18 years to 21 years. The rest are in adolescence and very early childhood.

Many (57%) thought about buying a car, because it is more comfortable to drive than public transport. 17% of Russians were influenced by the presence of a car in the family, and 9% wanted to impress their soulmate. 8% of respondents dreamed of standing out from their peers. For 3%, the decisive factor was the Turbo chewing gum insert with a foreign car. The majority planned to use the car for family trips (43%) or for travel (21%). Almost every fifth (19%) dreamed of coming by car to a university, school or even a kindergarten, another 10% were going to effectively come on dates.

It is noteworthy that the youthful dream came true for more than half (55%) of the respondents. 29% of Russians got a car either a little later than they wanted, or it was somewhat different from the ideal. 12% of respondents were able to purchase a car as in their dreams. Not “the same”, but still a great option - 35% of respondents. More than a quarter (26%) noted that their car is quite consistent with youthful dreams, but in reality it is more modern. And 14% of the polled Russians have told about the absence of a car, the authors of the study added.
