A resident of Pakistan drove a nail into her head on the advice of a “healer”

Police in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province are looking for a woman who allegedly drove a nail into her head to give birth to a boy and a healer who allegedly advised her to do so. This is reported by Dawn.

X-rays of a woman with a nail in her head have spread on social networks, and now "the process of identifying the victim from CCTV footage, as well as from computer recordings," the law enforcers specified.

The team is also investigating why the attending physician did not report the incident to the police.

Neurosurgeon Haider Suleman said the victim was bleeding when she was brought in and received first aid before being taken to the operating room.

“She said that a woman in her area did the same and gave birth to a boy, although the ultrasound showed that her unborn child is a girl,” the doctor said.

According to him, the nail penetrated deep into the woman's skull. Relatives of the victim said that "she was at home and lost consciousness." At the same time, they made attempts to extract the foreign body themselves.

Doctors later successfully removed the nail from her head. Hospital staff told the publication that, according to preliminary data, the victim is the mother of three daughters. Her husband allegedly threatened to leave her if she gave birth to a fourth girl. She was in her third month of pregnancy.

Last year, it was reported that a Chinese man had swallowed 15cm nails he stole from a store. Thus, the man wanted to hide the evidence from the police. At first, the detainee refused to go to the hospital, but law enforcement officers managed to convince the man that he could die. After he was taken to the clinic, doctors performed an operation and removed foreign objects from the patient's body.

In addition, the police noted that his attempt to hide the evidence would be an aggravating circumstance in sentencing.
