“A number of countries speak about the higher contagiousness of this line. In Denmark, it has become dominant - 82%, but at the same time in the UK and the USA, its share today is 8-9%, ”Popova said.

The head of the department also noted that a subspecies of "omicron" VA.3 has not been identified in Russia.

Earlier it was reported that the “omicron” strain of coronavirus was confirmed in 83 regions of Russia among 15,287 Russians. At the same time, 70% of citizens infected with "omicron" were not vaccinated, and 95% did not have coronavirus before.

According to Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, the number of patients with coronavirus infection has doubled in a week.
