Court in Grozny arrested Zarema Musayeva

The Staropromyslovsky District Court of Grozny arrested Zarema Musaeva, the wife of Saidi Yangulbaev, a former judge of the Supreme Court of Chechnya. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the press service of the court.

Musayeva was taken into custody for two months. She is accused under the article “Use of violence against a representative of authority”.

On the evening of January 20, masked armed men, presumably Chechen Interior Ministry officers, broke into Yangulbaev's apartment in Nizhny Novgorod. Under the pretext of a decision by the Chechen investigation to forcibly bring Yangulbaev and his wife Zarema for interrogation, they took the judge's wife away without letting her get dressed and take the necessary medicines. The motives of the alleged security officials may be related to the persecution in Chechnya of bloggers involved in the opposition Telegram channel 1ADAT. One of them is the couple's son, human rights activist Ibragim Yangulbaev.

Later it became known about the initiation of a criminal case against Musayeva and her son Ibragim.
