Russia - Popova: Vaccines against COVID-19 do not need isolation after contact with a sick person

Russia (bbabo.net), - Citizens who have been vaccinated against coronavirus do not need to isolate themselves for seven days after contact with a sick person if there are no manifestations of the disease. This was told by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova.

“No, it’s not necessary, this is our rule. Such isolation is not indicated for vaccinated and recovered contacts if they have no symptoms,” RIA Novosti quotes the chief sanitary doctor. Popova added that there are many studies showing that in vaccinated and recovered people, the concentration of the virus is much lower, and the period of its release is short.

Previously Director of the Center Gamalei of the Ministry of Health of Russia Alexander Gintsburg said that it would be more logical to vaccinate children aged from six months to five years against coronavirus infection with the nasal form of Sputnik (nasal spray), at least the developer will advocate just such an approach. According to him, there is also an option to dilute the Sputnik V vaccine ten times for use in children under five years of age, similar to how the same adult vaccine was diluted five times for the Sputnik M variant (for children 12-17 years old).
