Therapist told how long post-COVID syndrome can last

According to the general practitioner Inna Koloskova, the post-spinal syndrome can last from one to 12 weeks and eventually become chronic. She spoke about this in an interview with Evening Moscow.

Koloskova added that the duration of the syndrome mainly depends on the degree of impact of the virus on the immune system during the illness.

“Persistent and long-term effects of an acute illness that persist for more than four or five weeks after the onset of COVID-19 are not explained by the presence of comorbidities. It’s just that against the background of the post-covid syndrome, chronic diseases can worsen, ”she said.

The therapist noted that regardless of the presence of chronic problems in a patient with COVID-19 and the severity of the course of the disease, in most patients, post-COVID syndrome manifests itself in chronic fatigue.

Earlier, Andrey Isaev, an expert at the DNCOM Research Center for Molecular Genetic Research, spoke about the long-term consequences of omicron.
