Earlier, Roskosmos showed what was left of the island of Tonga after the volcanic eruption.

A powerful eruption of the underwater volcano Hunga-Haapai, which lasted several days, and the tsunami provoked by it, led to large-scale destruction in the island Kingdom of Tonga. So, local authorities evacuated the head of the island state Tupou VI from the royal palace in the capital city of Nuku'alofa.

According to the Geological Survey of Tonga, the volcanic eruption was the largest since December 2021 and caused a number of small tsunamis recorded off the coast of Tongatapu, the largest island in the archipelago.
