Russia (bbabo.net), - The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia annually increases the number of state-funded places in universities. For the 2022/2023 academic year, 588 thousand state-funded places have been allocated to universities, which is 11.5 thousand more than in the last admission campaign. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko announced this on Thursday.

- When forming the enrollment target figures, the demand of the market, indicators of state programs and the need of the regions themselves for professional personnel are taken into account. The emphasis is on the regions. It is important that students can get an affordable quality education in their native land, - said Chernyshenko.

The leaders in terms of the number of budget places, in addition to Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, are also Sverdlovsk, Rostov, Novosibirsk regions and the Republic of Tatarstan - today these are large innovative industrial centers. In these regions, an average of 11,000 to 15,000 state-funded places have been allocated to universities.
