Russia - Ministry of Labor develops new support measures for families with children

Russia (bbabo.net), - The Ministry of Labor has developed new measures to support young families, which will become part of a pilot project to preserve the reproductive health of citizens. Six regions will take part in it - Arkhangelsk, Kaluga, Magadan, Novgorod, Tula regions and Primorsky Krai, subsequently the best practices can be expanded to the whole country. This was stated by First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Olga Batalina.

"This year, together with the Ministry of Health, we launched a pilot project to preserve the reproductive health of citizens. The project passport contains a block related to socio-economic support for families with children," she said.

New support measures include the creation of rental centers for essential items for newborns. This will allow you not to buy expensive strollers and cribs, but to rent them. The list includes the services of a social nanny who will help families in need in looking after and caring for children. At the birth of a child, parents will be given gifts, and with a low income - to compensate for utility bills, to return payments for kindergarten in an increased amount in addition to those discounts that already exist. There will also be free childcare groups for preschool children at institutes and colleges.

Batalina specified that support measures could be expanded by the regions. Thus, the Arkhangelsk region added a lump-sum cash payment for women who gave birth to their first child between the ages of 18 and 25, and the Tula region - a monthly payment for a child from 1.5 to 3 years old for women under 25 years old.
