Russia - Court in Crimea extends house arrest for former Deputy Prime Minister

Russia (bbabo.net), - The Kievsky District Court of Simferopol extended until May 14 house arrest for former Vice Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yevgeny Kabanov and Regional Minister of Construction and Architecture Mikhail Khramov. This was reported by the press service of the court.

Within the next three days, the decision can be appealed to the Supreme Court of the Republic.

As previously reported, in December last year, the Supreme Court changed the measure of restraint to house arrest, previously placed in custody Kabanova and Khramova. Both are charged with fraud committed by an organized group on an especially large scale. According to investigators, when they were officials, they unreasonably overestimated cost of construction and installation work, stealing more than 57 million rubles from the budget when laying a water conduit.

Kabanov's lawyer said last year that the money had already been returned to the budget.
