Muscovites promised permanent spring

Leading specialist of the Russian weather center "Phobos" Yevgeny Tishkovets said that the air in the Moscow region will warm up to +5°C next week. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

Tishkovets stressed that February in Central Russia continues to amaze with unusual warmth.

According to him, the average monthly air temperature is almost 5°C above the norm, and February 2022 is among the ten warmest in the last 74 years. The forecaster added that until the end of the calendar winter, the atmosphere will remain in a permanent state of meteorological spring.

Tishkovets noted that the first half of next week will be under the influence of the North Atlantic cyclone Antonia. Precipitation in the mixed phase is expected. At nights in Moscow it is expected from 0 to +2°C, and during the day within +2…+4°C. Already on Tuesday afternoon +5°C is expected. This is 7…10°C warmer than the established norm, which corresponds to the climate of early April.

“On Thursday and Friday, the initiative on the synoptic map will belong to the anticyclone, which means that the inhabitants of the region are waiting for fine days in March. At night, it will freeze within -1…-6°C, sleet will form on the roads, and at the height of the day, the February sun will warm the air up to 0…+5°C. By the weekend, the weather will deteriorate again,” Tishkovets said.

Earlier, a leading employee of the Phobos weather center, Mikhail Leus, said that February 17 was the warmest day of the current winter.
